Learn about Robbie’s journey from Junior Estimator to General Manager.

What was it about the Englehart brand that drew you to the company initially? How did you envisage your career trajectory at that time?

I joined Englehart straight from high school – I was inexperienced, but hungry to learn and gain building experience. Englehart held a great reputation back then that they still hold today – for delivering quality, award-winning homes – which attracted me to the business.

I knew that I wanted to find a career that I liked and stick with it. My early days at Englehart were filled with folding plans, completing purchase orders, and double-checking details. This progressed in to working with suppliers, who I then went on to build great relationships with – a skill I still use in my role today.

What was it about Englehart that kept you engaged and resulted in you having such a long tenure?

Englehart has provided me with many opportunities for growth in my career. I progressed to Sales Estimator, Contract Administration Manager and Operations Manager, before being appointed General Manager in 2022. Throughout my time at Englehart I’ve been privileged to work alongside some of the best people in the industry, which has given me great insight into what it takes to run a successful, quality-focussed building company.

What aspects of Englehart’s values have resonated with you the most throughout your career?

Loyalty is a key value at Englehart. Many of our staff – as well as many suppliers and trades – have been working with us since I joined the company over 15 years ago. Some of our clients have returned to us to build their second or third home, or they have referred their children or friends to build with us. We deeply value these relationships and take the accountability that we have to our clients very seriously.

ROBBIE LAMONT

General Manager, Englehart

One of your key responsibilities is ensuring that Englehart delivers on each client’s unique vision. How do you approach this?

I work closely with each client to gain a thorough understanding of their vision and remain very engaged with them throughout each phase, from design and construction to handover and settlement. I’ve learned that open communication is of the utmost importance, so I ensure I keep clients in the loop. We get weekly construction updates from our team – clients really value being able to see that their new home is progressing as they pictured it. They trust us implicitly, and we are committed to delivering on what we have promised.

With Neil guiding the new chapter of Englehart, how do you see the future of the business?

Since Neil joined the business last year, we’ve seen some exciting changes, and I’m honoured to be part of this journey. Neil is bringing a fresh perspective to the business with aspirations about where we can go and what we can do. His expertise in running high-end construction companies is adding some new flavour to the business, while honouring our 43-year legacy.

Continuing to deliver premium quality homes is paramount, as Englehart expands into new markets, reaches different audiences, and elevates our offering of custom architectural homes.
