What was it about Englehart which made you decide to approach them to design and build your home?

We visited the Englehart display homes in Balwyn on several occasions and we were impressed with the high level of finishes and attention to detail. We were looking for a full-service builder that could take us from design through to execution.

Describe your experience in building a home with Englehart.

Our experience with Englehart has been very positive. We enjoyed the design process where we worked with the Architect to come up with a plan that met the needs of our unusual block and achieved the look we were after. We found that the architect understood our needs well and therefore the plans required very few iterations.

The build of our home occurred during a period of lockdowns due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but Englehart managed this well, and were able to mitigate disruptions to the project.

One of the benefits of working with a custom builder like Englehart is that you are able to make changes as you go – and we were able to make design changes throughout the process as we saw things come together and our ideas changed. Overall, our experience with Englehart has been very positive.

How would you rate the quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail in your new home?

We believe the craftsmanship and attention to detail in our home is excellent – 10/10. Englehart made several suggestions to finishes that we really think elevated the final product. A good example of this is the coffered ceiling in the entrance hall which we otherwise would not have installed.

How would you rate the integrity of the design in the finished product? Is it aligned with your vision?

The house is just as we had imagined it. When you co-design a custom build with Englehart you are really involved in the decision on every detail – and we were therefore very happy with the output.

How would you describe the overall customer service and communication provided by Englehart during the construction phase?

We have never built a home before so were unsure what to expect. We thought the communication was great and we were frequently updated on the schedule and next steps.

Did you feel confident throughout this process that the finished product would be delivered in line with your expectations?

Yes, we felt very confident. Englehart has an excellent reputation in the industry for their product and our home completely aligns with this expectation. We also had many opportunities to view the home during the construction process.

How would you describe the settlement and handover experience and the communication you received during this time?

On settlement, we received a comprehensive overview on all aspects of the home. We even had a specialist come in to help us connect and show us how to use the CCTV. Through Englehart, we received professional guidance with our soft finishes.

This was probably the highlight of the handover as the soft furnishings were installed on the day of handover, and the furnished home was revealed to us at the end of the day.

Have you encountered any issues with your new home, and if so, how were they addressed by Englehart?

Englehart have been very responsive with a few small issues that we have raised.

Would you recommend Englehart to friends or family looking to design and build a home?

As a matter of fact, we have already recommended Englehart to a couple of friends..
